Dutch artist Cocky Eek has tried to make knots in space, has swum in the North Sea on a summer night donning a transparent costume stuffed with glow-sticks, and has flown through the air in a 60-foot long billowy white dress pulled only by 6 Coyne kites. In addition to being an artist, Cocky Eek has done extensive academic research on mind-boggling topics such as pneumatology, the architecture of air, and design considerations for inflatable structures. In her project entitled “Kuma-Kuna” Cocky Eek created a series of costumes out of elastic foam and studied their effects on human movement.
