LA VIE BLANCHE “The white life”, the look of this season is pure white for Ann. Demeulemeester conveys construction and design in what seams to be great ease. The palaette of design is intense but melts to the male form. Its a mélange of the equestrian, the fencer, the escapologist and the maître d…. And in total, speaks volumes to the world of fashion! The use of no color intrigues… it is merely the garment that we are drawn into. The gorgeousness of construction, the use of leathers boots, the collars, the draping. An amazing Fête!
It did not end there, the conclusion to the show was the mash up to the white…but in all black… Ann Demeulemeester is above and beyond! Ja’ Dore!
PAUL SMITH opens the floor to the late 60’s man, a bit rock and roll…. Its very apparent that this man is totally that of a day tripper! Its a great play of color, textures and yet is still that of SMITH’s quality of fit. Lots of Great sheer knit shirts and blousy tie-dyed looks… Its very La’ Vie en Rose meets a east-end london bloke… So good!
KRIS VAN ASSCHE, Has a true way at a quiet force. In this Collection he encompasses the total package… Van Assche mends together the technicality of design and hones in on the soft form of the Dior Homme . Its quite apparent that there is a dialogue between the draping and the model… Its a gorgeous collection of cut-out sides, deep v’s and amazing capes. NOT TO MENTION THE BEST SANDAL IN ALLLLLLL THE COLLECTIONS THUS FAR. PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT THE DETAIL SHOT!
Lucas Ossendrijver amazes us with this seasons collection.
This season the trend is that of a tech-savvy, malable textured and unfinished quality to the clothing. We see a great deal of the unfinished in the garments and the play on an overly heavy neck with the accessory. The mix of colors and the direct play on the feminine qualities play up in this collection. As per the usual Lanvin is a favorite. The jackets the shoes, the intensity, and a new take on the stripes.
So yesterday while we were in 10 CORSO COMO (which is one of my favorite stores in Milano) trying to find some new personal pieces… we bumped into Jeremy Scott… a brief conversation led into the invite to his Adidas collaboration party here in Seoul… J.S. was on the ones and twos and the party was quiet fun!!!! Get it Jermey! And really the Zhane overlay!!! Ja’ Dore… GET IN!
Dominic’s Way by Song Hye Myung was a little theatrical… a really loose play on a modern version of the sophisticated korean punk/biker moment! The greatest thing in the show is the detailed leather trims and the cuts of the jackets. There are also glimpses of the boots in the video, which are a great new version of the studded boot… but hold on to the end!!! There is a dramatic studded gas mask… I think the house of GAGA is calling! get into the show… ladies and gents…
and please note that the seoul f/w loves smoke on the runway, hence the haze… and I am not a professional videographer, so we are hand held and getting you the looks as soon as we see them… Enjoy
After the 14 hour flight from NYC, we bring you Seoul Fashion Week. It has been a great first day, and we look forward to the rest of the shows. The first two days of Seoul FW are a focal on the men’s collections which are to be said the best of the SEOUL.. hmm!
junnn.j is an amazing, amazing designer… this visionary is one of the Asia’s most sought after and elite designers. Junn is a part of the Samsung Fashion and Design Fund… His collection launched as Juun J. in June 2007, to international acclaim… This presentation was quiet small and we were quiet gifted to see the collection up close and personal. Sitting front row, and trying to get the complete look was quiet a fete’….
We were a little exhausted at this point so the video is a wee shakey.
but please enjoy. The shoes are so over the top moon sandals, and the simplicity of the cuts and fabrics, with the drapping… I mean we just died. Enjoy, and look for more Juun J.
Throup, has been a favorite for a while. He has the ability to work on such a clean palate. While he continually is pushing the boundaries of design, architecture and function. Throup always creates such a progressive statement either with his brand or avec’ un collabration… Aitor Throup is genius….not to mention he is hot!
AITOR THROUP
Throup’s “LEGS” retrospective is amazingly refreshing. He has taken his brand and minute fragment of American History/Culture and concurrently fused this exhibit .
A.T. worked in some form of thermal-cotton mesh and molded it down into what appears to be male figurines… We see an array of expression, but, the most stand out is that of his trouser Hommage.
Throup mimics the physical gestures of a New Orleans traditional funeral processions (marching band), and replicates the garnered procession with fashion armor. While his collection of trousers prevails the 5 steps of intense shrinkage, when wool is exposed to water..?. Amazing! Keep on marching to the beat of your own drum!
“Legs” at Galerie Jean-Luc & Takako Richard in Paris showcasing his trousers designed between 2004 and 2009…..
